COBOAT is a copyright package created by Cogapp to serve their clients in the museum world. As part of the OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. Museum Data Exchange project, Cogapp is making available to relevant institutions, without fee, a license to use COBOAT for the purpose of generating CDWA Lite records of their collection objects.
The terms of the license are below. In order to obtain a license under these terms for your institution, you will need to register using the form at the bottom of this page.
There are two parts to the software in this package: the core COBOAT application (including its associated DLLs), and the set of configuration files, including the ‘processing plug-in’.
With respect to the core COBOAT application:

Cogapp will on request, and at no cost, grant a non-exclusive license to any cultural heritage organization (museum, library, archive, etc.) to use COBOAT for the purposes of publishing a CDWA Lite or LIDO repository of collections information.

These files were developed by Cogapp, under commission from OCLC. The configuration files are offered to users pursuant to the Apache 2.0 license.

Upon successful registration you will receive a license file via email to activate your copy of COBOAT.
