Cogapp delivers pro bono user experience consultancy to Norwood

Norwood, the winner of our website usability day MOT for charities competition (launched last year for World Usability Day) has now reported back on the free consultancy and user testing we delivered to improve the effectiveness of its online presence and will consequently be making improvements to their website.

Sunday the 18th of April sees the inaugural Brighton Marathon. Three of Cogapp's permanent employees will be in their running shoes for the 9:00 am start and hoping to complete the 26.2 miles in time for lunch. Website usability MOT competition results are announced

The entries for the competition that Cogapp launched in support of World Usability Day on 12th November have now been judged and we're delighted to announce that the winning charity is Norwood. a charity that supports people with learning disabilities and children and families in need.

The Kidney Patient Guide (KPG) – the online discussion forum and information hub for sufferers of kidney disease, their families and support networks - has won the prestigious Freshest Digital Not for Profit Gold Award at the Fresh Digital Awards.

Cogapp launches redesign of online community Kidney Patient Guide

Cogapp is proud to unveil a new look and navigation system for the Kidney Patient Guide - a site which provides support, advice and an online discussion forum for sufferers of, and those affected by, kidney diseases. Established in 1999, and originally funded by a grant from the Wellcome Trust, the KPG has been maintained pro bono by Cogapp since it was launched.

Ten Thousand Cents

Ten Thousand Cents is a project where a digital representation of a $100 bill was created by thousands of different people from all over the world. This project caught  our attention because it was made using Amazon's Mechanical Turk - a tool for sourcing people to perform Human Intelligence Tasks - or tasks that computers are unable to perform.

Individuals were asked to reproduce  a 10,000th of a $100 bill using a custom drawing tool, but were not told anything about the project.

Digital Communications for Charities Conference 2009

Rachael Rainbow and I had a fascinating day out at the Digital Communications for Charities conference back in January, where I gave a talk on ‘Effective fundraising through better user experience’. The focus of the conference was online fundraising for charities and it was really refreshing for us to get the client-side perspective on this.
