Much like the county fair, all good things must come to an end. So it is with Codeo, our coding competition aimed at local students.

Originally started way back in '08, Codeo involved us posting regular programming challenges on our blog, for which entrants would submit their creations in hopes of winning a prize. Initially started as a way for students to engage with the local digital industry and show professionals their skills, Codeo also gave them a creative outlet for the material they studied in their courses (as challenges were devised to complement what students were studying in their syllabuses).

From now until January 22nd we'll be asking you to complete a front-end challenge. This is straight up gun slinging folks.

Shoot us a new Cogapp news page! For the Sheriffs out there this a chance to tidy things up and make some clean changes. For the outlaws; well, this is a chance for you to cause some chaos in Cogapp County.

Autumn's Codeo came, was seen and has been conquered by... Lewis Scoging. As all you web jockeys know there can only be one winner, and after a discussion around the camp fire we've decided to go with Lewis's entry called 'Cowboy Defender'.

Lewis is a 1st year student at the University of Brighton his game harks back to a time when cowboy were cowboys. To play the game just follow this link.

Like a traveling salesman making his rounds, Pech-app Cake-cha rolled back into Cogapp town this week. Hot on the heels of last month's successful Cake Thursday/Pecha Kucha hybrid, we once again sat down in out seats, picked up our forks, opened our ears and readied ourselves for 2400 seconds of joy!

First up to the stand this time around was resident User Experience Consultant Cathy. Giving a presentation on the CERN Common Control Centre and some work she conducted there before she joined Cogapp, Cathy's talk taught us all a little about physics, a lot about user-centred environmental design, some things about Switzerland and a huge amount about how captivating an audience can make them completely forget about the cake in front of them.

CODEOh YES! People - we are back! Can you handle the onslaught of cowboy clichés we're gonna be lassooin' yer way? Yer gosh darn tootin' you can. Billy the Kid has done a rip roarin' job of settin' the scene, and it's my job to dish up the bacon. Grab yer hat, pull up yer spurs, and get back on yer horse cowboy, cos a-here we go....

Howdy pardners! The saloon doors are open, the roosters are crowin' and good ol' Codeo is rollin' back into town.

For those of you not in the know, Codeo is an online competition for local students. Our Tech wranglers post challenges on our blog for students to complete and send in - hopin' to get their paws on a prize.

The Codeo is a contrary beast; he hibernates all summer long while the students he depends on for his existence bask in the sun instead of in the warm glow of their computers. This challenge is now closed!! Looks like its all quiet on the western front as we didn't receive an entry for April's challenge! So the task rolls over to May, same challenge, same rules, same prize, so if you think you've got the stuff to win the £100 bucks then git' to it Maverick!!!!!!

Yeee..I say...Yeeeeeee harrrrr. Here we go again folks, another horse ridin', lassoo throwin', campfire sittin' Codeo challenge for you to grapple yer worst with.
