From now until January 22nd we'll be asking you to complete a front-end challenge. This is straight up gun slinging folks.

Shoot us a new Cogapp news page! For the Sheriffs out there this a chance to tidy things up and make some clean changes. For the outlaws; well, this is a chance for you to cause some chaos in Cogapp County.

The most exciting and creative use of CSS and Javascript will scoop £100 and the chance to visit our office and meet some of our very own Tech mavericks.

Here are the rules:

1) Have a gander at our news landing page.

2 Grab the News landing page HTML/CSS/JavaScript from this here zip file.

3) By hook or crook, change (or completely scrap!) the CSS and JavaScript and come up with your own whacky design / layout.

Here are some things to note:

1) When you get the zip file, the main CSS files to edit are 'cogapp.css', 'layout.css' and 'html-elements.css'. The only JavaScript page you'll need to edit is the 'theming.js' file. We use the JQuery library for this, but you can do what you like.

2) See if you can get cowboy themed easter egg into the JavaScript. We'll be clicking around all over the place to find it.

3) We'll only be looking at your web page in the rootin'est, tootin'est browser there is (a.k.a. Safari 4) soooOOOooo play to the gallery and use any of the CSS3 features you can shake a cowboy hat at... For a tip on what to look up, here's all of the CSS3 supported by Safari 4.
