Wired Sussex Jobs + Skills Fair

Last Thursday we attended the annual Wired Sussex Jobs + Skills Fair, held at Brighton's Corn Exchange. Over 1,000 job seekers turned up for the event, meeting exhibiting companies and digital media course providers and taking part in specially organised activities.

Our Head of Web Development, Tristan Roddis, was part of a panel of speakers from local companies giving a Q&A session entitled "Getting Your First Job in Digital Media". The panel was made up of individuals from a range of aspects of the industry: marketing, development, design, art direction and community support. Other activities throughout the day included a talk on freelancing, one-to-one sessions with careers advisors and a talk on skills for new media from Mike Nutley, Editor-in-Chief of New Media Age.

We were also exhibiting at the event and enjoyed meeting all the students and jobseekers who came to our stall to say hello. Joshua Routh, who has completed an internship through the Brighton Internship Programme at Cogapp and continues to work with us, received a certificate at the Fair.
