360-degree Projects
Traditional media sectors such as broadcasting and publishing are recognising the need to re-invent themselves for the digital world. Audiences are demanding ever-greater flexibility in terms of where, when and how they consume content. Web 2.0 social networks and the popularity of sites such as Flickr and YouTube are demonstrating the desire among users to swap, share and play with digital content.
Within an increasingly interconnected mediascape, broadcasters such as the BBC are recognising the value of large-scale, multi-platform interactive projects and formats and have introduced a 360-degree commissioning policy to encourage the development of such projects. These 360-degree projects will sometimes feature bundles of associated content and activities, both on- and offline, involving a range of partnerships, under an umbrella brand. Equally, these formats could utilise the opportunities of web 2.0 to provide multiple gateways into dispersed content, tracked and badged, but which nevertheless embraces the creativity of the audience.
Cogapp has assembled a team and a portfolio of skills to develop multi-platform projects and formats. We are working with linear broadcasters and publishers to generate winning pitches, get commissioned, and then design, deliver and exploit the resulting products and formats.
Our team has over twenty years interactive and online experience including work with the BBC, Channel Four and Discovery. We now have two TV production experts in our staff, one of whom is a recognised specialist in 360-degree commissioning and its relationship to public service content.
We have successfully delivered a multi-gateway multi-partnered project with a seven-figure budget and are experienced across the gamut of interactive, off- and online platforms. We are comfortable negotiating IPR deals and major multi-partnered contracts. Over the last two years we have been immersing ourselves in the broadcast environment and learning the requirements of the major commissioners. We have also been developing our expertise in user experience and in early 2007 launched our in-house lab. We are active members of PACT and Cogapp's, MD, Alex Morrison, sits on the PACT Interactive Media Policy Group. Niki Strange is a member of the BBC's New Media Suppliers Advisory Panel.
