ICONS makes Association of Online Publishing award shortlist

September 2006

The Association of Online Publishing has chosen ICONS for the shortlist in the "launch" category in this year's AOP awards.

The AOP Online Publishing Awards 2006, now in their fifth year, celebrate and reward excellence in all aspects of digital publishing and are an established showcase of the most innovative and high-quality online content in the United Kingdom.

Judging for the 2006 awards took place on 4 September when a group of digital media experts met to agree the shortlist for the prestigious awards. There were 108 entries, from 46 companies, across 14 categories.

Jerry Doyle, managing director of ICONS said: “This shortlisting vindicates all the hard work which has gone into this project and the foresight of Culture Online for supporting new and exciting ways for people to identify with their cultural heritage. It is also indirectly an award for all the thousands of people who have visited the site, suggested an icon and voted.”

The awards will be presented at a dinner on 4 October in London following the annual AOP online publishing conference.
