• The Independent on Sunday discovers an excellent web site

The Independent on Sunday's feature on the Internet (13th January 2002) picked the National Portrait Gallery as their prime example of a museum web site ahead of other national museums, the Tower of London and the Louvre.

The paper writes that the Gallery's 'high standing in the art world is mirrored by this excellent web site'. They particularly liked the What's On and Shop sections and gave a fully illustrated guide to the collections search system.
