Brighton and Hove Museums select Cogapp for their online collections project

December 2003

Following a competitive tendering process, Cogapp has been selected to help the Brighton and Hove museums develop their online collections.

We are very much looking forward to working on this local project helping to make some spectacular material accessible online. The first two collections to go live will be the Decorative Arts and World Art collections, both of which are recognised by the UK government's Designation Scheme. This was launched in 1997 with the aim of identifying and celebrating the pre-eminent collections of national and international importance held in England's non-National museums.

We have already enjoyed working with the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery to produce their splendid Renegade system, an interactive journey into the world of alternative fashion. This was finished in time for the reopening of the museum in Spring 2002.

The Brighton and Hove museums data will be coming from their MultiMIMSY collections management system with which we are already familiar from work at the National Portrait Gallery and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.

Support for the new project is coming from the UK Government's Designated Challenge Fund.
