Who's Who

Gavin Mallory ~ Producer

As a Producer, Gavin's responsibilities include pitching to clients for new projects, requirements gathering, specification writing, wireframe development, and contextual research (with users and stakeholders). He is a project manager, looking after the way project budgets are allocated, and directing the work of our technical and design teams.

Since joining Cogapp in early 2006 he has worked for a multitude of clients on numerous projects. He led the redevelopment of the CRD (Centre for Research and Development in the Faculty of Arts and Architecture) website for the University of Brighton, and the redevelopment of the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning through Design website, also for the University of Brighton. He has managed ongoing projects for the Sheffield Galleries and Museums Trust, and projects for the Kidney Patient Guide (which Cogapp maintains on a pro bono basis), Film Education, Brighton Museums and the National Portrait Gallery, amongst many others.

Gavin is a firm believer in User Centred Design, and has facilitated user testing sessions for numerous projects, including ICONS, the British Museum, MoMA in New York, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Good Schools Guide International and the BBC. After facilitating sessions, Gavin draws up results, writes reports, and makes recommendations from the findings. The process is an integral and invaluable part of many of our projects.

Gavin began his producing career at The Moving Picture Company, working primarily in commercials. He left television to teach in Japan for two years, and started work as a Cogapp producer shortly after his return to the UK. He has a BA (Hons) in Media Production, a BTEC in Media Studies, and a post graduate diploma in E-learning theory and design.

Gavin is certified PRINCE2 project manager.
