Ian Smith ~ Head of Interactive
As Head of Interactive, Ian is responsible for developing installations for museums and galleries, interactive programs for education, and bespoke art installations such as the Prudential Eye. He is also heavily involved in our development of multi-platform projects.
Ian's computing life started small - with a cantankerous ZX Spectrum - but thankfully grew via an Honours Degree in Computing & Information Systems and nearly 50 New Media projects, both for Cogapp and a range of freelance clients. As one of Cogapp's most senior project managers he liaises frequently with both the Design and Technical departments, ensuring projects are kept closely on track as they progress towards their full realisation.
His client experience includes work with the BBC, the Science Museum, the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, Shakespeare's Globe, the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority, Nelson Thorne, Granada Learning and The Big Bus Education Ltd. As project manager for the Prudential Eye project, Ian headed up the original presentation, then oversaw all aspects of the project including initial development, hardware procurement and installation, technical and design development, and client liaison.
