Case Studies
Man-U-Net
Manchester United Museum
Almost all of the material we produced in 1998 is still in use at Old Trafford.
The Man-U-Net has been enthusiastically updated and now contains more than 10GB of data including thousands of photos and video clips.
The system's text and statistics are updated once a week by members of the museum staff; once a season we do a larger update to add to the enormous library of video clips and photographs.
Small children (and their parents) use the Man-U-Net to enjoy hours of fun reviewing famous goals, player by player and match by match.
What They Said
'I have been astounded by the depth of research and the level of accuracy that has been put in to the Man-U-Net by Cogapp, the technology is designed to take the museum into the 21st century'
Mike Maxfield, Museum Manager quoted in Museums in Britain issue 2, 1998
'Wylie [the museum's curator] pays tribute to the speed and efficiency with which Cognitive Applications worked, their willingness to listen to the museum during the process, and the quality of the final result.'
Museums Practice, 1998
