What We Do
Usability Testing
Usability testing provides the gold standard for evaluating how a product or service performs for its users and in turn, identifying how it can be improved.
As one of the fundamental techniques of a user centred design process, usability testing can be applied at any stage of your project to evaluate and inform its progress, from initial paper prototypes through to the finished product.
User testing can play a number of critical roles within any design and development project.
Informing design: By testing existing designs, and those of your competitors early in a design process, your team will be able to learn from best practice and identify solutions to existing problems, key areas for design innovation.
Validating design decisions: By user testing low fidelity wireframes and prototypes as a project progresses, it is possible to validate design concepts with real users before time and money is invested in further development.
Benchmarking usability: Few business cases acknowledge that most interfaces are less than 100% effective. Without recognising this fact, your project will never achieve the goals set out for it. Setting realistic usability goals at the start of your project and testing to ensure you achieve these will significantly improve the potential outcome of your project.
Cogapp is experienced in providing usability testing for our own projects, and those of our clients. We understand what its like to implement usability testing findings, so we structure our projects and deliverables around this. We ensure that whenever possible, we deliver pragmatic and actionable solutions to the issues observed and we always look to identify what already works well, so you dont make unnecessary changes and upset your existing audience.
Cogapp conducts usability sessions either in our own observation facility in Brighton, or at various dedicated facilities around the country. Where necessary, we can conduct testing at almost any other location with our mobile user testing equipment.
We are currently offering a limited series of free usability testing sessions. For more information on free sessions or other services, please call +44(0)1273 821600 or contact Head of User Experience, Pete Gale.
