Ben Rubinstein and Joe Baskerville speaking at MCN Conference
September 2008

Joe Baskerville, Cogapp's Head of New Technology, and Ben Rubinstein, our Technical Director, are travelling to Washington DC in mid November to take part in an MCN (Museums and Computer Network) conference.

"Let's do I.T. Right!" is a four-day meeting of minds exploring the "how-tos and why-tos" of Information Technology for Museums, including topics like Digital Readiness, Social Networking, Museum Information Standards, and Sustainability and Accountability.

Joe will be giving a talk with Allegra Burnette, Creative Director of Digital Media at The Museum of Modern Art, entitled "MoMA.guide: A New Approach to Digital Information Kiosks". Joe and Allegra will focus on how the Guide has made significant innovations in the area of Museum Kiosks, both in terms of exploring the museum's collection, and in connecting the experience of visitors to the museum with how they interact with the museum online.

Ben will be speaking, also with Allegra, on "Connecting the Internal to the External: Exploiting Collections Management". Introducing tools developed by MoMA and Cogapp to support the development of an online collection, Ben and Allegra will focus on how to maximise efficiency and accuracy in the dissemination of public access information to museum collections.

If you happen to be attending the conference in Washington, be sure to take part in the discussions led by Joe, Ben and Allegra during the Thursday and Friday morning sessions.
