Codeo - first competition winners
November 2008
The first month of Cogapp's coding competition for students in Sussex has drawn to a close. 'Codeo' is aimed a those studying, or interested in coding, programming or web or game design, and the first challenge was to create a cowboy-themed game with MIT Media Lab's Scratch programming language. The judges had a tough time deciding the winner, with some very creative responses from the entrants. In the end the £100 prize went to a team from Brighton University led by Jason Paget, who will be shortly coming to Cogapp's office to meet the staff and claim their well-earned prize. They built a 'shoot the bandit' game with a superb introduction sequence. Runners up were Jack Prior and his other 'shoot the bandit' game, as well as Charlie Newman with his interesting take on 'Buckaroo'.
With an impressive first month's challenge now complete, Cogapp is delighted to have engaged Sussex-based students, and seen such effort put into the competition. With a new challenge just announced on the Codeo site, everyone is now looking forward to the next set of entries.
