DK Quick Cook iPad app

We’re very excited to announce that following the success of the DK Eyewitness Travel iPad apps, we will continue to work closely with the DK digital publishing team to create a further collection of interactive apps for both iPhone and iPad. Based on some of their best selling core titles, we will be developing five new apps that will be available via the iTunes app store by the end of the year.

First to launch will be Quick Cook on iPad. The app has broad audience appeal as it features over 600 diverse recipes in an easy to use tool. Recipes will be visually displayed and searchable by a range of useful filters, including store cupboard ingredients.

Alex Morrison, MD said: “The entire development team at Cogapp are very proud of the DK apps we have produced so far. Cultivating ways to deliver content that is both stimulating and accessible via thoughtful, high-quality design is something that we continually strive for. It is fantastic that we are able to continue to build upon our collaborative relationship with DK and means there are exciting times ahead.”

Established in 1974, DK have an iconic range of visually stunning reference books for adults and children, from travel guides and activity books, through to food, history, film and much more. We produced their first apps in 2010, the Eyewitness Travel iPad apps for Paris, London and New York, which enabled DK to position themselves as an innovative digital publisher; actively responding to the consumer desire for dynamic mobile content.

DK Publishing Director, Justin Moodie, said: “Apps are a rapidly growing publishing channel at DK, providing our customers with a new, accessible route to access some of the most inspiring content and beauty from DK via their iPad or iPhone. Cogapp delivered three fantastic travel apps for us last year and they were our first choice when we decided to develop more apps for some of our top selling core factual titles this year.”

Many of us have grown up reading Dorling Kindersley’s books and being inspired by the content and information contained within them. We’re delighted to be working once again with Dorling Kindersley and have the opportunity to bring these iconic titles to life.

DK’s new Quick Cook app for the iPhone and iPad will be available later this summer via the iTunes store.
