Cogapp to create interactives for new British Library exhibition
January 2010
We have recently won a highly competitive tender to deliver a range of interactive kiosks for a new exhibition at the British Library, Magnificent Maps: Power, Propaganda and Art.
Magnificent Maps will explore the role of maps as more than just pieces of geographical information, and will include several large-scale display maps that have never been exhibited before. It will run from Friday 30 April through to Sunday 19 September, and you can read more about it here.
We've already started work on the interactives - which mark the first time we have worked with the British Library - and we're thoroughly looking forward to working with their team. The interactives see us continuing our work on kiosks after the installations we produced for the Great North Museum in Newcastle won a BIMA award last November.
Ryan Doherty, Multimedia Production Manager at the British Library, said, "We’re very much looking forward to working with Cogapp for the first time. Their track record in producing kiosk interactives impressed us, and their approach demonstrated an insightful understanding of the visitor experience we’re aiming to create in the Magnificent Maps exhibition."
Cogapp's Head of New Technology, Joe Baskerville, said, "We're very excited about working with the team at the British Library on the Magnificent Maps interactives. It's looking set to be a fascinating exhibition that we're delighted to be involved with. We hope the interactives will be entertaining and informative, supporting the exhibition's message that maps are far more than geographical tools and can engage an entire range of audiences."
