Cogapp team supporting the London Bridges Walk for Kidney Research UK
May 2007
A team from Cogapp are walking eight of the most recognised bridges along the Thames from Tower Bridge to Westminster Bridge in order to raise money for Kidney Research UK.
Along with supporting Kidney Research UK, the team also hopes to raise the profile of the Kidney Patient Guide website. Financed by a grant from the Wellcome Trust's Science on Stage and Screen awards and launched by Cogapp in 1999, the site has been maintained by Cogapp on a pro-bono basis for the last eight years. It serves hundreds of thousands of people each year whose lives are affected by kidney disease and there are more than 1,000 subscribers to the bulletin board, which is moderated by an active team of volunteers.
In addition to participating in the walk, Kidney Patient Guide and Cogapp have united to sponsor the Millenium Bridge, one of the bridges along the way.
