New members join Production and Technical Departments
July 2010

This June has seen our Production and Technical teams expand further with the addition of Silvia Filippini Fantoni as Senior Producer and Lee Briggs as a Junior Programmer.

Silvia has extensive knowledge and experience of new technologies in cultural institutions and her new role as a Senior Producer will see her leading and co-ordinating project teams to deliver creative, high quality digital media projects. She will also be managing new business developments, in addition to working with our user experience team on research and consultancy projects.

Silvia joins Cogapp after 10 years working as a project manager and evaluator for a number of technology based projects in and for museums. Most recently she has worked for the British Museum as a project manager with the responsibility of developing the museum's multimedia guide. Silvia has also continued her academic studies whilst embarking on her professional career, gaining a PhD on the use of Personalisation technologies in Cultural Organisations and has written a number of publications on these topics. Originally from Bergano, Italy, Silvia has an MA and a PhD in Museum studies from Université Paris, France, and has a keen interest in various cultural aspects including contemporary art, cinema and performing arts.

Meanwhile, Lee's role as a new Junior Programmer will see him working on new and existing client projects and programming to a high standard of quality and robustness, he has knowledge of a wide range of languages including HTML, CSS, jQuery, PHP, SQL, and Javascript.

Lee joins us from a Marketing Communications agency were he worked as a Junior Web Developer, working alongside graphic designers to produce client sites and maintaining the company’s own site. He previously gained a first class BSc (hons) in Web Development at Southampton Solent University in 2009.

We're also welcoming our new Technical Department Intern, Richard Phipps next week. Richard joins us on his industrial placement from his Digital Media Development Degree at Brighton University. His role will encompass a wide range of tasks from network support, usability testing and basic programming. We wish our previous Technical Intern Calum Hutton good luck as he leaves us to finish his Computing Degree at Bournemouth University.
