New National Archives Education site launched
October 2009

The National Archives' (TNA) online education resource has undergone a radical restructure drawing on the findings of user experience research conducted by Cogapp.

The new site was designed in-house by TNA's technical team using wireframes based on extensive user research and testing undertaken by Cogapp. Whilst the content and design of the site that users are familiar with and have been successfully using for years remains unchanged, the interface and information architecture has been completely revamped to make the page a more intuitive experience for the end user.

Working closely with the TNA team we examined the experiences of users from a wide range of demographics to give TNA a complete picture of how visitors experience their site. Based on these findings, we created a prototype structure, which the TNA team then took away and used as the framework for their new site.

We have collaborated with TNA several times in recent years, having been on their market research and usability framework roster since the end of last year.  We are delighted to continue the flourishing relationship between their development team and our own user experience consultancy.
