New team members join Technical and Production departments
March 2010
Our team has recently expanded with the addition of Rob Nicholls as our new Senior Programmer, and David Witt as our new Producer.
Rob is a programmer with extensive knowledge of a wide range of languages and technologies, including ASP.NET, XHTML, SQL, JSON, SOAP and more. His role will see him contribute towards developing complex, large-scale websites and streamlining development languages to create unique, efficient and easily manageable back-ends for clients to control their web presence. He will also be developing customised solutions within existing languages, tailoring content management systems to perfectly suit client needs.
Rob joins us having recently done freelance web constructions for illustrious organisations such as Bacardi. Prior to that, he worked at a number of different software development agencies including Governor Ltd, where he created bespoke solutions for public sector and not-for-profit institutions, and Serif Europe Ltd, where he honed his skills in coding, testing, quality assurance and client liaison. He is trained in electronics and programming, with a BTEC National Diploma in Microprocessors and a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Computing gained from De Montfort University in Leicester, and he also has an EMFEC ANSI C programming certificate from Castle College in Nottingham.
Meanwhile, David's role as our new Producer encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities, from project management and wireframe development, through to documentation, client liaison and overseeing user research. He utilises his diverse skill-set to meet and manage client requirements, and takes a critical role in guiding the direction of project development. As a producer, he is adept at managing projects with flexibility and agility, employing Cogapp's creative methodology to deliver unique, engaging work.
Prior to joining Cogapp, David worked in digital media in a variety of different environments, ranging from providing consultation on projects for Regency Town House in Hove, to managing a raft of projects for General Motors whilst working for Urban Science in the US. He has a keen interest in database development and utilisation, crowd-sourcing and online community development - demonstrating these through an active engagement with different social media channels.
Originally from Detroit, David has an MBA from Wayne State University and a degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University. He is also a certified PRINCE2 project manager, and holds qualifications in Google Analytics and SQL. He is a keen photographer, runner and baker, and enjoys games of Scrabble whenever he can find the time.
