Pete Gale speaking on User Experience at Charities Conference
January 2009
Pete Gale, Cogapp's Head of User Experience, will be running a workshop on usability and fundraising at the Digital Communications for Charities Conference this month.
The Conference, which takes place in Westminster on 21st January, is a chance for attendees to take an in-depth look at the potential of and issues surrounding charity fundraising through new media. Pete's workshop will involve an exploration of tactics for effective fundraising through better user experience. Many charities find that in too many cases, donors directed to their sites leave without giving, suggesting a lack of customer engagement. By highlighting the most common barriers to success from a range of commercial and charity clients like Macmillan Cancer Support and the Arthritis Research Campaign, Pete will discuss how to plan an online experience to ensure that fundraising isn't limited by poor user engagement.
Other talks and workshops at the day-long conference will investigate topics like search engine marketing, the risks of online fundraising and raising awareness through social networking. It promises to be an inspiring, thought-provoking experience for non-profit organisations of all causes and sizes.
