UK Young Artists website launches
October 2009

UKYA

We have recently created a website in conjunction with Arts Council England for a new organisation called UK Young Artists. The organisation celebrates the artistic talents of our nations youth and looks to get artists into the spotlight; displaying their capabilities, ingenuity and visions to the country and beyond.

A joint venture between ACE and four universities (Nottingham Trent, De Montfort, Loughborough and Derby), UKYA is aimed at getting vital publicity, support and help to artists between the ages of 18 and 30. The new website will be a part of this mission and help increase the communication between artistic networks, both nationally and across borders. With 15 young artists from the UK recently flying out to Macedonia to showcase their work as part of the Biennale of Young Artists (the next of which will be taking place in Morocco), the site is set to fuel aspiration and increase publicity for young artists across the nation. UKYA have also been working with Arts Council England to secure a world event for young artists to take place as part of the Cultural Olympiad in Nottingham 2012.

Cogapp were asked to produce a website clearly detailing the goals of the project and also piquing people's interest in the artists and their works. The website serves as a centre for information about the organisation, the artists, their projects, events and new developments in the scheme. The sleek interface and efficient navigation help make the site engaging, whilst still representing the flair and imagination of the project as a whole. Having been designed with a flexible framework to support UKYA as the organisation becomes larger, the site is set to grow rapidly in the near future, with new content and aspects to come.

We have worked in association with ACE on several projects so far this year (with the fruits of the collaboration so far including Artists Taking the Lead and Hello Art) and were delighted to be able to work with them on another rewarding collaboration.
