About the project

Lucas Publications' The Good Schools Guide is a respected independent guide to schools, first published in 1985. They wished to develop a solely online international version (Good Schools Guide International, or GSGI) enabling businesses and the expats they send abroad to find the best British, IB, American and international schools in the world. The site needed to provide interfaces for end-users, the corporations who employ them, GSGI administration and a worldwide network of GSGI editors. We undertook user research with expats, potential editors and representatives from large corporations and HR departments to find out how they would use the system; delivering a user-centred website with an identity that embraces new places, new cultures and new things to learn. A worldclass guide to classrooms of the world.

"Every Cogapp team member has been unfailingly professional, knowledgeable, meticulous, and very thorough. Crucial for me - working in such an unfamiliar medium - they have also been encouraging, patient, unpatronising, and of unending good humour even when my learning curve slipped into a flat line."

Harriet Plyler, Editor, Good Schools Guide International
