The Jewish Museum

Online strategy consulting, website design, IA & online collection

About the Project

The Jewish Museum in New York is at the heart of interlinked social, community, cultural, professional and learning networks. In 2007 they began thinking about ways to enhance their online presence, and commissioned Cogapp to develop a digital strategy to underpin future development work. Conceiving and then implementing this strategy, we revolutionised the Jewish Museum's web presence by bringing their collection online; refreshing the site design and IA; installing a new calendar and events system; and adding a new education section. Developed collaboratively across the Atlantic, the result is a revitalised website centred on showcasing 4,000 years of Jewish art and history through a new online collection with extensive functionality including bloggable, zoomable and 3D images. Building on the successful launch, we've since undertaken rounds of user testing and enhancements to further strengthen the Museum's online presence.

Accolades

"In this wired world of global communication, The Jewish Museum is thrilled to be launching our next generation web site — one filled with interactive features that provide access to the Museum as never before."
