Andy Cummins

Interactive Developer

As Cogapp’s interactive developer, Andy builds and develops interactives for a variety of our projects. He has recently been putting his technical skills to use developing iPad apps for Dorling Kindersley, interactives for the Magnificent Maps exhibition at The British Library.

On the web side of things he typically works with online collections, developing COBOAT scripts to update a museum's online collection automatically from the museum's collection management system. He has worked on projects for MoMA, NPG and the Jewish Museum, New York and is experienced in both PHP and ASP and is familiar with the most popular web databases including MySQL, MS-SQL and PostgreSQL.

He also handles the more advanced Linux administration on our external and works with Python and AppleScript as well as some of Cogapp's in-house software such as the content management system CEF and the COBOAT database tool. Andy initially joined Cogapp as a Technical Department Intern back in 2006 after gaining a BSc (Hons) in Software Engineering from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.

In recognition of his fine work on a number of projects including the British Library and iCAV, he moved into his current position as an Interactive Developer in May 2010.
