Andy Taylor / Web Developer
Andy joined Cogapp in August 2008 as Junior Web Developer. The focus of the role is implementing websites in both the front end, in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and the back end using languages such as PHP and MySQL. He also works with the various content management systems Cogapp uses when building large-scale websites, such as Plone, Drupal and MODx, and conducts usability and cross browser testing for in-development sites.
Further skills acquired during his time at Cogapp include Postgres and Python, experience with Javascript libraries and a deepened knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML and CSS. Since starting in the role Andy has worked on the upgrade and re-design of the Jewish Museum's website and online collection, and MoMA's online collection and e-card system. His skills have also been utilised on projects for the Airborne Forces Museum, National Portrait Gallery and Social Care Institure for Excellence, amongst others.
Andy has a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Southampton. While studying he won an award from the university for a group project for the BAA. Their project was an application displaying obstacles surrounding the runway at Southampton Airport, designed as an aid for the airport control.
