Since joining Cogapp in February 2014, Adrian has applied his excellent problem solving skills to a variety of internal and external projects, with a focus on software development and infrastructure.
For our work with Qatar Digital Library, Adrian created the AWS cloud infrastructure using technologies such as SolrCloud and GlusterFS. He also worked on a Python3 software that ingests the digitised archives provided by the British Library and distributes the data across all parts of the infrastructure.
Adrian has also worked on an enterprise-level app factory for a major commercial organisation, creating cloud-based Phonegap automated binary builders for Android and iOS using Ansible and Fabric.
Before joining Cogapp, Adrian worked for the Travelling and Mobility R&D group at Geneva University. He worked as a Software Engineer with PhD students, helping them with research in fields such as indoor positioning and behaviour recognition, using Android applications.
Adrian graduated in 2012 with a BSc in Computer Science from Geneva's Engineering school. His final year project was a Windows Presentation Foundation application and an Android application that communicated using Bluetooth. Both these applications are still used by the Engineering School to transmit data to visitors during conferences or open days. Before university, Adrian provided help-desk support in French and English for EasyGiga, a Swiss website hosting company, where he developed strong customer support skills.
