Scout Burghardt

QA Lead, she/her

After 2 years of educating herself in the art of programming and attending codebar Brighton, Scout joined Cogapp in late 2019 as technical assistant with the goal of growing her skills further and becoming a developer.

Since then, she has enthusiastically dived into the world of web development, web accessibility, script-writing, SSL/TLS certification, and the general nitty-gritty of keeping the day-to-day tech infrastructure in the office running.

She has worked on projects such as Hammer Museum, Hammer Video Archive, and the Kidney Patient Guide. She also facilitates inter-office skill-sharing by overseeing Cogapp's Tech Tuesdays. Her particular interests lie in the intersections of technology, politics, and social justice.

When not at work or at her computer, Scout is active in Brighton’s housing co-operative network. She is looking forward to the return of film festivals in a post-pandemic world and is watching her tomatoes grow in the meantime.
