MoMA.guide Interactive Installation

New York City, New York, USA

About the project

As part of a major refurbishment project, MoMA wanted a kiosk system for its newly built education wing.

Often considered the most influential modern art museum in the world, it was keen to ensure the large proportion of its collection that cannot be placed online for copyright reasons is made accessible to researchers, students and art-lovers.

Working closely with their team, we took the project through consultancy, design (working with renowned designer, Professor Malcolm Garrett), build and finally installation.

With an elegant flowing interface and unprecedentedly flexible architecture, the kiosks offer access to high quality large scale reproductions of the works, along with visitor information, an events calendar, e-cards and multimedia features.

First installed in the education wing, the kiosks proved successful enough for further units to later be installed across the wider gallery. MoMA.guide brings MoMA's entire, world-class collection of modern art into the Museum for the first time.

The installation was nominated for a Design Week Award.
